Hampton Inn Draper Salt Lake City

The Hampton Inn Draper Salt Lake City was a nice, clean, quiet hotel conveniently located just off of the freeways and just outside of Salt Lake City. The views of the mountains from both sides of the hotel were stunning. Our room was spacious, clean, and everything was functioning as expected. The area surrounding the hotel is clean and quiet. The free onsite parking seemed very safe. We were able to check in early. The check in on the app and digital key make things super easy. The free hot breakfast was good. The fitness room was well appointed and the pool/spa area were nice as well.

We have stayed here a few times and have always appreciated the value. We have experienced a few small annoyances. The main doors to the rooms don't soft close, so you get to hear your neighbors door slam every so often. This last time we went there was hardly anyone staying there, yet we seemed to get clumped in the middle with everyone. If they have plenty of rooms it would be nice if they left a space between rooms first and filled the gaps as more rooms were booked for a bit more quiet and privacy. Otherwise the hotel seems very clean and has been a good price/value for the area.

The hotel is newer, clean, and we'll maintained. The staff were friendly. Breakfast options included the usual fare; scrambled eggs, sausage, cereal, bananas, etc. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. The only downside is the noise. You can hear everything from toilets flushing in other rooms to people walking down the hall. We unfortunately had an upstairs neighbor laughing like the joker half the night. Bring earplugs and a noise machine to actually enjoy the comfortable bed.

Not sure how a hotel has 5 stars when there are no locks on the bathroom doors? Seriously. Anyone with couple of kids can attest, this is a major oversight. Not the best stay. We stayed next to a room that had the ac compresser turning off and on, every 45 seconds....the whole night. Like sleeping with you head next to a small air compressor, that is struggling to keep up. I called the front desk at 4am, but nothing changed. The unit was located right by the headboards of the beds. Room 412, hearing impaired room, was the culprit. Maybe they couldn't hear but the front desk was not exactly empathetic: "I've been up since at least 4am" "Sorry sir, we'll have maintence check it our for the next guests" ..."I'd like to have had some sleep too" "We can't (won't) issue any refund. We can give you some hilton points" --Breakfast was clean, basic, but nice. The customer phone service was also not the sharpest. Out of country customer service booked a room, told us they cancelled then the hotel charged us because reservations never actually cancelled the room. Very frustrating.
